About The Artist

Karine Gélinas is a French Canadian artist, born in Québec and based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she has spent most of her life, with a brief chapter in British Columbia. Her creative journey began early with drawing classes, sparking a lifelong exploration of art.

She later moved into makeup artistry and body painting, collaborating with photographers and models to bring her visionary concepts to life.

In 2012, Karine discovered her passion for painting on canvas. This led her to mentorship with a local artist and a year-long fine art program at the Milan Art Institute.

Karine’s work is deeply rooted in self-discovery and the search for meaning. Her art is driven by a desire to create beauty and authenticity with every brushstroke. As she describes it:
"Each painting is a liberating and magical experience. While I paint, time stands still, allowing me to infuse intention and authenticity into each piece."

Her process blends modern mixed media techniques using high-quality materials; pastels, inks, spray paint, acrylics, markers and finished with the richness of oil paint for depth and texture.

Today, Karine works as a professional artist from her home studio. Looking ahead, she plans to merge her passion for art with her love of travel. Europe calls and as she travels through its landscapes, she dreams of creating work that inspires others on their own path of self discovery
